What is your Transfiguration Moment. Transfiguration is Photography and the transformation and joy it brings to me
I have always had in interest in photography. It has always been a passion of mine over the years. It has brought me great joy to capture life’s greatest moments in life. The family gatherings, vacations and capturing the greatest events in family and friends’ lives. I was so grateful to be part of a 70th Wedding anniversary party for a great family friend. I have been there for birthdays and anniversaries.
Photography has always been an outlet as a chance to express my creative outlet. Over the years I have several opportunities to attend Minnesota North Shore workshops in all types of weather. Each trip brought different expectations to the weather conditions and the shooting locations. I have had the most fun photographing at night. Especially challenging experience was photography in harsh conditions during Presidents day weekend. We had lots of winter clothes and learning how to photograph in the cold and how our cameras handle the frigid temperatures. These trips have challenged my photo skills and I had to opportunity to learn from others. You are always learning from the mistakes you make and learned what happened and what to change for the next opportunity. Faith in Christ has made me realize who I am as a person of faith and as a photographer. It captures who I am as an individual with Autism who has had a strong passion for photography.
I have a sense of independence with a camera in my hand. I feel my creative energy when I get behind the camera then in front. My creative ideas flow and I can find lots of opportunities to give me so much pleasure. Photography is to be creative with your gear and the subject. Being in the outdoors has brought me great joy in my creative opportunities of my differences. It has been a great joy and opportunity to be a photographer. I was also able to learn in the classroom they gave me the opportunity to achieve an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Photography.
I have gained so much knowledge not only on my own but from others. Learning from others is the best knowledge we can get. Also, another way is to learn from your mistakes helps you get better with your camera and your composition.
